This weekend was amazing. The weather was beautiful - and it means that fall is coming! That alone makes me happy! But it was also a weekend of celebration.
Jacqi got married on Saturday. She was absolutely stunning. And I dont think I have ever seen her look so happy! (Pictures to come, as soon as I take them off of the camera!) That alone made it all worth while.
But even more than that, I got to spend a bunch of time with Jim. We got to the church early. So we walked the 2 blocks to the Iron Hill Brewery/Restaurant. Jim got a beer and we just relaxed for a few minutes. (Well he did, I was all stressed because I swore the ceremony started at 2 and couldnt figure out why no one else was there yet. I was wrong. It started at 2:30. Oh well.)
We got to the hotel and had a bit of time to relax before heading over to the reception. It was nice to be able to just talk with Jim and Tony. That doesnt happen enough with either of them. Especially Tony because there is usually a baby James running around!
When we got to the reception, there was a cocktail hour to start. Drinks and cheese and crackers with a few other warm appetizers! DE-LIC-IOUS! And how do you go wrong with an open bar? (In the end, the answer is drinking too much... but that was Jim, and thankfully not me this time!)
Dinner was served and there was all of the normal fanfare of weddings - the best man's toast, the throwing of the bouquet, the father/daughter and mother/son dances. But what made it even more special to me was that Jim and I danced. For the first time. Ever. :-) Yes, we have been together for over 5 years and married for over 3 before we danced. But it was seriously magical.
As cliche as it sounds, I think I fell in love with him all over again! I wish that night never had to end! I could float on that cloud forever.
First, Jacqi looked beautiful. Second, I saw the pictures of you and Jim and you both looked so in love. Perhaps this was just what you guys needed. You looked absolutely stunning btw.
ReplyDeleteI second all that Ange said! Jac looked sooo elegant! And I hope this was just what the doctor ordered for you two as well!!
